Modular Backpacks by Trailflex
Posted by Camp Trainer on Jan 12, 2009 in Backpacks • No comments • 7,510 viewsIn an expansion from the earlier post about internal frame vs external frame backpacks, the latest innovative design is modular backpacks.
These packs can be expanded depending on your trip. Take off the daypack if you do not need it, so that you have a smaller, lighter pack on a summer hike.
Or simply re-attach it for a longer trip. One particular amazing backpack system I’ve seen in recent years is by TrailFlex. Below is a particular camouflage design available. Because it’s modular with detachable components - adding, removing, and reconfiguring components is easy.
TrailFlex Hunter’s Ultimate Modular Pack System
Features of Modular Backpacks:
- Flexible Pack - This backpack can be used as a traditional backpack, hold-all or daypack.
- Shoulder Straps and hip straps operate like those of a traditional backpack
- Zipped to the main pack, the daypack adds extra space
- Zip off daypack can be used separately. In addition to the harness, this “ultimate” package includes a removable modular backpack, a waist pack, a double holder for rifle cartridges, a GPS/radio holder, a grunt-tube holder, a range-finder pouch, a knife pouch, a medium-sized binocular pouch, a field organizer, and a two-bottle holder.
- Main Pack is big enough for weekend jaunts.
- Shoulder straps and waist bands are tucked in and secured. Adding, removing, and reconfiguring components is easy.
- The base harness custom fits to the body, and excess strapping at the waist secures in a strap channel to eliminate dangling straps.
